Papaioannou - Giota to her teammates – Argyle’s club captain. The solid and reliable Greek international central defender is a key cog in the Argyle side and a hugely respected member of the squad.

After joining during the 2018/19 season, and making her debut away to Coventry United, she racked up 66 appearances prior to the start of the 2023/24 season.
