Zak Baker Joins Tiverton Town on Loan
Zak Baker has joined Tiverton Town on loan.
The young goalkeeper, who turns 19 later this month, signed his first professional contract with the Pilgrims in the summer, having graduated through Argyle's Academy.
Tiverton are currently in the Southern League Premier Division South, and have recently appointed Leigh Robinson as their new manager, replacing long-time boss Martyn Rogers.
Darren Behcet, Argyle first-team goalkeeping coach, said: “It’s a really good opportunity for Zak to continue his development. He has stepped up very well this season in the first-team environment and this is his next step to gain some valuable experience at Tiverton Town.”
Kevin Nancekivell, first-team coach and head of player development, said: “I’m really pleased that we have agreed for Zak to head to Tiverton.
“At this stage of development in their professional careers, it is imperative that our young professionals get game time, and doing so at other clubs not only helps to improve their game, but it also broadens their horizons and enriches them with new experiences.
“Zak is a hard-working young player with an excellent attitude, and he will come back to Argyle as a better players and better person for his experience.”
