Vacancy | First-Team Sports Therapist
Argyle are hiring for a first-team Sports Therapist.
A key member of the medical department, the first-team Sports Therapist will be responsible for providing wide-ranging support to the club’s playing staff in conjunction with other medical practitioners and sports science staff.
The successful applicant will have specific responsibility for individual players and will be expected to provide optimal recovery strategies to promote readiness for forthcoming fixtures, medical support of the highest levels, including injury prevention, diagnosis and rehabilitation as well as generally educating players in terms of good self-medical management.
Key Duties:
- To work alongside the other members of the medical team, namely Physiotherapists, Sports Therapists and Club Doctor, to plan, deliver and support the medical provision for all first-team players.
- Be part of a multi-disciplinary team that works collaboratively to support the development of our elite athletes .
- Provide soft tissue therapy to first-team players .
- Supervise first-team players' injury rehab plans, as required .
- To ensure that all players under your care receive appropriate assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries.
- To familiarise yourself with the Medical Emergency Action Plan to know your roles for the relevant session.
- Pitch-side emergency first aid for training and games, as required .
- To ensure appropriate medical equipment is present and available at all training sessions and games that you attend .
- Maintain medical notes in conjunction with relevant governing body standards and ensure they are uploaded to the club's online system.
- To support the medical and performance team with testing and screening protocols.
- To undertake regular CPD and training relevant for the role to progress the medical department and medical provision .
- Contribute to ongoing staff and player education through our in-house CPD sessions.
