Vacancy: Emerging Talent Full-Time Scout

Salary: £22,000 - £25,000  

Location: Home Park Stadium, Plymouth, PL2 3DQ 

Job Description

The purpose of this role is to watch and monitor academy players aged 16-21 in the north or south of England. As a first team talent identification scout, you will join our team of scouts and analysts, reporting to the head of recruitment.

We're hiring for two scouts, one based in north of England, and one based in the south of England. Your focus will be to maintain and develop a database of talent from the elite academy systems. 

Your full-time role and responsibilities will be divided into three main parts: 

Live Scouting - You will be monitoring and evaluating talent from elite academies during live matches.  

Video Scouting - You will be analysing talent identified through our data recruitment system, assessing their strengths and weaknesses based on the club’s position-specific profiles.  

Reporting - Provide clear and concise written reports on live matches and individual players assigned. 

The candidate must have: 

• Knowledge of the English PL2 and PL Under-18 leagues. 
• Full Driving Licence  
• Experience at a professional football club 
• Extensive knowledge of youth talent across England  
• FA Talent Identification - Level 2 minimum 
• Talent identification, Observation, Report writing, time management, communication.  

Desirable Skills: 

• Experience with football data and metrics from StatsBomb and Opta.  
• A good understanding and knowledge of different playing styles and player profiles.  
• Good communication skills, both written and spoken.  

Work Environment: 

You will be part of a high-performance recruitment department that values teamwork and open communication. Flexibility on work hours will be needed due to attendance of live matches on weekends and midweek evenings. There will be the opportunity to work from home and report to the office based on the working week.
