Under-18s v Bristol Rovers (A) | Preview
Argyle’s Under-18s go into this weekend having won four from four in the Youth Alliance League, but they will defend that 100% record against the only other unbeaten team in their division.
Bristol Rovers have won two and drawn two of the four games thus far. Last time out, they drew 2-2 with Newport County, and in their other game on the road, they drew by the same scoreline with Cheltenham Town.
At home, though, Rovers are two from two, having beaten Oxford United 1-0 and Exeter City 4-0. And the Young Pirates will be at home as Argyle head up the M5 on Saturday morning.
Argyle have momentum of their own, of course. The Greens have beaten Cheltenham, Forest Green Rovers, Exeter City and, most recently, Portsmouth to sit on top of the division at this stage.
Against Pompey last weekend, a Cole Gibbings opener was followed by a Freddie Issaka penalty, but crucially another clean sheet was kept. Argyle have let in just two goals in the league so far, and only three in six games in all competitions.
Last season, Argyle won 2-0 at Rovers, with the game in Plymouth finishing 1-1.
