RIP Colin Sexstone
The club is saddened to learn of the passing of former Argyle Director, Colin Sexstone, aged 74.
A former RAF Group Captain, Sexstone joined the club on a non-executive basis to support then owner James Brent with rebuilding Argyle post-administration, leaning on his decades of experience in sports governance - including Chief Executive Officer roles at home-town club Bristol City and Gloucestershire County Cricket Club.
While Sexstone’s involvement at Home Park coincided with one of the club’s most difficult and unsuccessful periods, his influence and expertise proved invaluable as the Greens successfully fought off relegation from the Football League.
By the time he departed the club in 2015, to take up a role closer to home with Bristol Rovers, Argyle were on the climb, with a losing play-off final under Derek Adams to follow later that season, and a promotion campaign immediately after that.
Everyone associated with Argyle sends their condolences to Colin’s family and friends at this sad time.
RIP, Colin.
