Report | Swindon Town under-18s 4 Plymouth Argyle under-18s 1
The young Pilgrims suffered defeat for the first time this season in the EFL Youth Alliance Southern Section.
Argyle found themselves a goal down in the first ten minutes as the hosts made the most of a corner, heading the ball back into the danger area for a striker to fire home.
Argyle got level on the half hour courtesy of a great individual goal from youngster Freddie Issaka.
He fired across the ‘keeper’s body to find the inside the far post after leaving several defenders floundering.
Argyle finished the half with their best spell of the game but had to settle for being level at the break.
The loss of central defender Ethan Mitchell to the first team squad was beginning to show and hosts began to put the pressure on.
In the 65th minute a long throw left Swindon with a simple close range finish to restore their lead.
Two goals in the final 10 minutes put a rather one-sided slant on the result although the hosts were the better side.
