Preview | Argyle Women v Crawley Wasps
After two weeks without a game, Argyle Women are back at home for the fifth round of games in this season’s FAWNL Southern Premier Division against visitors Crawley Wasps.
The Greens will be looking to kick-start their league campaign with a win at home. Manager Ryan Perks and the players will want to put behind them a poor run of form that has followed them this season and demonstrate a strong showing in front of the home crowd.
Something to perk Ryan up will be a couple players becoming available to him. Lily Greenslade had a very impressive debut against promotion hopefuls Oxford United earlier in the season and her return from international duty is a timely boost for the squad.
New Signing Katie Dickson will also be available to the Pilgrims this weekend. The exciting forward will be keen to demonstrate her talents after recently signing in the summer transfer window.
Crawley Wasps will also be looking for their first win of the season away from home. Crawley find themselves above Argyle in the league occupying the second relegation spot in 11th place. The Wasps’ previous game consisted of a 1-1 draw at home to eight-placed Bridgwater United. A win this weekend could see Wasps go as high as seventh with results going their way.
The game will be held at the Manadon Sports & Community Hub, kick-off is at 2.30pm. Tickets cost £5 for adults, while Under-3s have free entry. If you are unable to make it to the game, updates are available on social media @ArgyleWFC.
