Muslic urges players to reward supporters against Norwich

Argyle Head Coach Miron Muslic has thanked the Green Army for their support over recent months – and urged his players to give the supporters something to cheer this Saturday.

Argyle take on Norwich City at Home Park on Saturday, with both sides at the stage of the season where they need a win to keep hopes alive.

For Norwich, they are 10th, five points outside play-offs, clinging onto their hopes of making the top six in the final seven games of the season. For the Pilgrims, they need to make up seven points on teams above them to claw themselves out of the drop zone, but a win against the Canaries could go some way to narrowing the deficit.

“We have to believe that we can do it, and the best possible opportunity is on the silver plate for us on Saturday,” said Muslic.

“We have to take advantage of this, and we have to win this game. There is no way out. We can speak about good performance, maybe struggling in transition, creating a lot of goal scoring opportunity, not rewarding ourselves…

“Forget this, we need to win this game. We should have the bigger desire than Norwich to win this game.

“If we can, we can close the gap suddenly to four and then you have a chance. So that's what we need to do. We need to push; we need to go fully.

“The Green Army will be behind us for sure, from the first whistle until the last. We need to give them a little bit more on the pitch to get the stadium louder and the stadium shaking.

“They will be there. We just have to make sure we perform.

“We have to go out and try everything possible. Having a bigger desire, the bigger heart, the bigger willingness. Norwich are also playing for something. If they can manage to get to three points, they have a chance to reach the play-offs and to fight for the Premier League.

“But our desire, our willingness should always be bigger. We have something more to play for. We are facing a potential relegation.

“Momentum is something very important in our game. If we can get this momentum, we have to create first this goalscoring opportunity - and grab one. Have the opener, then the Green Army will be behind us. This will give us confidence, a second air, a big chest, and we will have something to fight for.

“But it's up to us. It's not up to the Green Army. 1,500 of them against Watford, 1,400 away in the midweek against Portsmouth, over 1,000 in Sunderland, 8,000 in Manchester.

“It's not up to them. It's up to us and we have to be there and take our obligations and take our responsibilities.”
