Mia Endacott Called up for England Under-17s
Argyle Women forward Mia Endacott has been selected for England Under-17s for the latest round of fixtures taking place in Hungary, for the European Women’s Under-17 Championship Round 1.
The young Lionesses will take on Northern Ireland, Hungary and Belgium over the coming days for the chance to represent England once more as they attempt to qualify for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup hosted in the Dominican Republic next year.
Mia’s journey with Argyle began when she was nine years old. After featuring in numerous squads for both Devon FA and Lakeside, the explosive striker made the move to Bristol City’s Women’s Under-21 side at the start of the season but chose to remain available for Ryan Perks’ during the 2023/24 FA Women’s National League Season.
“I am so pleased and proud to be called up for the Under-17 Euro qualifiers, and excited to get this campaign going,” said Mia.
"I have been part of the women’s pathway at Argyle since a very young age, and have seen it grow into an excellent pathway for female footballers. It’s been incredibly influential in my development as a player, with the staff playing a massive part in my development both on and off the pitch which I am very grateful for.
"This has led me to be part of the England Pathway, and to now be part of the women’s team which is something I’ve always wanted to achieve. I look forward to continuing my development with Argyle as the season continues.”
Ryan Perks is Argyle Women's First-Team Manager and Head of Women and Girls Football, and has coached Mia from her first days in football. He is understandably incredibly proud and delighted with Mia’s progress so far.
He said: “It’s fantastic for Mia to be given this opportunity to represent her country and another exciting moment for her in her development. Mia fully deserves this for the dedication and effort she puts into her game.
"This again highlights the successful pathway the club has built over the years and I’m sure Mia will be followed by plenty more in the future. It’s excellent and exciting for both Mia and the football club and I look forward to her continuing her development with us.”
Everyone at Argyle wishes Mia the very best of luck in this tournament and congratulates her on her selection in the squad.
