Match Preview | Argyle Women v Gillingham
Sunday sees a return to league football as Argyle Women take on Gillingham at the Waterways Stadium, Saltash.
Following a comfortable win over St Austell Ladies in the League Cup, Argyle will be looking to carry on their winning run into this weekend's match against The Gills.
Last season’s matches between the sides ended in wins for Gillingham, but were level going into the closing stages, with late goals frustrating Ryan Perks and his side.
The Gills have started this season positively. A win away to Ipswich after being 1-0 down at the break and a draw to second place Portsmouth currently sees Gills in eighth place.
This match will be the first home game this season that sees the Greens play at the Waterways Stadium. Although the location may have changed ever so slightly for this fixture, Perks is determined to take another three points.
“Being at home we need to make it a fortress,” he said. “Teams don’t like coming here. Hopefully, we can get the three points and keep building on the momentum.
“Performance levels are getting better each week so again, so to keep moving in the right direction, a reaction from the girls and sticking to the game plan - that’s what we're looking for this Sunday.”
Kick-off is at 2pm. Tickets cost £5 for adults, while Under-3s have free entry. If you are unable to make it to the game, updates are available on social media @ArgyleWFC.
