Leicester City (H) | Wright's Preview
Argyle have taken four valuable points from their last two Sky Bet Championship games, and that has coincided with the return to the starting line-up of Callum Wright.
The 23-year-old has played on the left of Argyle’s front three in the 1-0 win at Rotherham United, as well as the 1-1 home draw against Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday night.
After an absence, Wright is naturally pleased to be back in the fold and says that the two unbeaten games in the last week have set Argyle up well for the visit of league leaders Leicester City, a former club of Callum’s.
“To be back in, for me personally, is really good,” said Wright. “I’ve absolutely been wanting to play all season; it's been a tough one really.
“We’ve had a couple of good results, and we need that bit of momentum going for the last few games of the season.
“We've had two good results in terms of four points in two games, and I do think that something’s turned for the end of the season, which is good timing, really.
“We had aims at the start of the season to get around 50 points, and if you do that, I think you stay up. We're five points off that now with four games to go. That’s definitely doable, achievable and it's still in our hands. We've got to make sure that we get it.
“Looking at the fixture list, it’s one I looked at at the start of the season. It's going to be a good one, under the lights of Home Park on a Friday. The fans will be bouncing and there's something on it for both teams, so it's going to be a really good game.”
Wright feels that Home Park, which will be sold out as is now the norm, can still be an intimidating place for opposition sides to come, despite six games without a win in PL2. He had words of praise for the unwavering support of the Green Army, too.
“They come in their numbers and they're loud every week,” he said. “You know that they've got your back, no matter what. It gives you that boost to kick on for them too. It just gives you that little bit more edge, and we’re going need that over the last four games, 100%.
“At the end of the day, Leicester are beatable. We've seen that over the last few weeks now. Teams are taking points off them and they've dropped down the table a little bit, points-wise.
“It's a tough place to come, over the last couple of seasons, we know that we can turn anyone over here, so we need to get that momentum back. I think QPR might have been a good start.”
