Katie Grigg rejoins Argyle Women
Katie Grigg has rejoined Argyle Women after playing for Devon rivals Exeter City.
The 20-year-old defender joined Argyle for the 2020/21 campaign from the Grecians’ Girls Development Centre and made four appearances in green before returning to Exeter.
Over the last three seasons, Grigg featured 61 times for Exeter's first and reserve teams and now returns to Home Park to help Argyle’s ongoing FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division season.
Head Coach Ryan Perks said: “It's great to welcome Katie back to the club. We allowed her to play women's football at a young age, and she showed quality during that spell.
“She adds some more strength in depth in the squad and we are looking forward to working with her and further developing her game.
“She will need to learn a new style of play than she's used to from her time at Exeter, but Katie has an excellent attitude to learning, and I'm sure she will fit in with the group and our style quickly.”
“I’m really excited,” Katie told Argyle TV. “Everything's been positive, and everyone's been welcoming, so I’m excited to get started.
“Coming in and training, everyone's been so welcoming, both the management staff and the girls, I can’t even say thank you enough for how welcoming they’ve been.
“I’m excited to play at Home Park. My hands are sweating now just looking at the pitch. It’s going to be nervy, but you've got to channel those nerves, perform well and encourage the girls.
“I’m just really excited to get started and play somewhere close to home.”
