Joe Edwards wins CT1 Player of the Month for September
Joe Edwards has been voted Argyle’s CT1 Player of the Month for September.
It was a month that featured three fixtures, the first being a dramatic 3-2 win over Sunderland at Home Park, in which Edwards pounced to score an injury-time winner.
Joe also played as Argyle narrowly lost 1-0 at West Bromwich Albion, then beat Luton Town 3-1 live on Sky Sports last Friday evening.
Joe won the supporters’ vote with 46% of the poll, ahead of Lewis Gibson (43%), Adam Randell (7%) and Darko Gyabi (3%).
“It was a good month for us,” said Joe. “We played some nice stuff and a few good results.
“It always means a lot to me when it’s a fans’ vote. It’s nice to be recognised, but the most important thing is the team. There were some really good individual performances this month, and as a collective we’re a lot stronger. Hopefully we can keep building and keep progressing.
“Sunderland was a big win for us, to get our first win of the season, to get us going. The atmosphere and the way it happened, in the last minute, was really special. To score in front of our fans, at the Devonport End, is amazing, and something I’ll always cherish.”
