Jenkins Davies signs contract extension
Young Argyle midfielder Will Jenkins Davies has signed a one-year contract extension with the club.
Jenkins Davies spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan with Torquay United, making 33 appearances and scoring seven goals, despite missing part of the season with a knee injury.
A creative midfielder with bags of energy, the 19-year-old has played 11 times for Argyle’s first team and will be looking to add to that appearance tally in the 2024/25 season.
After penning his contract, Jenkins Davies said: “I am buzzing. All I have known is Argyle since I was young. I joined the club when I was seven, and it is a club that has nurtured me all the way through to this stage.
“I learned a lot from my time at Torquay last season, it is not only about ability but also about character and determination which we had to show in abundance after a difficult season.
“I want to keep improving and play with these top players in the squad and can’t wait for pre-season to start to get the ball back at my feet. I am really thankful to be able to continue my development here.”
Argyle first-team coach and Head of Player Development Kevin Nancekivell added: “Will performed well in difficult circumstances last season at Torquay.
“The experience of playing 33 games at a good level of football has only benefitted his development and it is important now for him to come back into the first-team fold as pre-season approaches.
“He knows there is still lots of room for growth and development to become an integral part of the squad, but we are really looking forward to continuing to work with him for another year.
“He has all the attributes to be successful and it is up to him now to build on the hard work he has already put in and get better and better.”
