Jake Jervis to play for Argyle at TST
Former Argyle player Jake Jervis becomes the latest name to commit to this summer’s TST event in Cary, North Carolina.
The Soccer Tournament (TST) is a 7v7 event with a $1million winner-takes-all prize and Argyle will feature in the event for the first time under the tutelage of Head player-coach David Norris and Assistant player-coach Jamie Lowry.
The 33-year-old joins former teammate Graham Carey as the next member of Argyle’s squad, with Carey announced to be returning to the Argyle green last week.
Jervis, who is still plying his trade for Hednesford Town in Northern Premier League Division One West, made 127 appearances in green, scoring 31 goals.
The forward is excited to be heading Stateside with Argyle and commented: “I’ve heard a lot about TST, having had a lot of friends and former teammates take part in the tournament before.
“It is a fast paced, popular tournament that has captured the imagination in America, and beyond, and I am buzzing to wear the Argyle badge once again.
“I loved my time with the club and had some of the best moments of my career at Home Park, so it was a no brainer to join the squad when I was asked.
“I’m looking forward to joining up with the players and giving our best to win the $1million prize.”
Jervis will be sponsored for the tournament by Maen Karne, the south west's leading fully independent supplier of bagged and loose aggregates, concrete blocks and ready mixed concrete.
