Issaka and Hatch Receive More International Recognition
Joe Hatch and Freddie Issaka have been called up once again for Wales Under-17s for the upcoming run of European Championship qualifying fixtures.
The two Argyle Academy prospects will join up with the Welsh national side for games against Scotland, Iceland and Montenegro in South Wales.
The qualifying has reached the Elite Round stage, where Wales will be looking to win their group in order to qualifying for May’s Under-17s European Championship Finals. Wales can also qualify as one of the best seven runners-up from the eight groups.
Wales will play Scotland at Newport County’s Rodney Parade on Wednesday, 22 March, followed by games at the Dragon Park training complex, also in Newport, against Iceland (Saturday, 25 March) and Montenegro (Tuesday, 28 March).
“This is a fantastic experience for Freddie and Joe,” said Academy Manager Phil Stokes. “Ultimately, they will be trying to help Wales Under-17s qualify for the European Championship in May, but they face three tough group games in the Elite Round.
“It’s pleasing for everyone in the Academy that Freddie and Joe have been selected to participate in an International Tournament. We wish them both the best of luck next week.”
