Huddersfield Town (A) Galloway's Preview
Argyle defender Brendan Galloway says that he has enjoyed the first, ‘intense’ week of Ian Foster’s reign as Head Coach.
After stepping into the dugout on day one in the job, as the Greens beat Sutton United in the Emirates FA Cup last weekend, Foster started on the grass of the training pitch from Monday, and as Argyle prepare to head to Huddersfield Town this Saturday, Galloway spoke highly of Foster’s impact thus far.
“[It’s been] very impressive,” said Brendan. “Intense in training. We've had a good couple sessions and the way that he wants us to play is very detailed. The messages are clear.
“I'm just looking forward to the new journey with him.”
The first journey, literally speaking, is to Huddersfield, who are in 21st position in the Sky Bet Championship. Argyle are yet to win away from home this season, but Galloway says the attitude on the road remains positive.
“[We] try to go out and win every single game we play,” he said. “All we want to do is go out and try to fight to get three points. I think that that'll be the clear message.
“Every game, you just want to go out and win away from home. A few times we've been unfortunate where we could have won, where we should have won, and it just hasn't gone our way.
“Of course, when we're at home, we've got our fans behind us, so that pushes us extra. But away from home, it's just the same. I don't really think about it. And all we want to do is go out and win.”
Galloway’s time at Argyle has been punctuated by injuries – so much so that he reached 50 games in the green and white against Sutton, two-and-a-half seasons after joining the Pilgrims – but he says he feeling happier and healthier than he has in some while.
“It’s completely past me,” said Brendan, regarding his injury issues. “I’m looking after my body every day, recovering well. I don't even think about it anymore.
“I just want to get on the pitch every single time. I want to be on the training pitch every single day.
“I feel really good; the best I've felt in a long time. All I want to do is play football. So to be back on the pitch, available for selection, helping all the lads and fighting for three points for the club every week is the best feeling and I'm really happy at the moment.”
