Host Families wanted for Argyle Academy
It has been another excellent season for the Argyle Academy, with excellent results on and off the field.
As the Academy continues to grow, attracting the best young, talented footballers in the South West and beyond, we are on the lookout for local residents and families who can play a part in the development of the club's Academy talent for the 2024/25 season. As such, we need people to join our fabulous team of host families.
We need people who can provide a 'home from home' for our young players, with an environment that is high quality, safe, and comfortable to live in for our scholars, as they undertake their busy weekly schedule and fixture programme.
This commitment may be on a full-time basis with our signed apprenticeships, or on a flexible part-time basis with our regular trialists. You will be required to provide residential accommodation each week during the football season, alongside a nutritious evening meal, occasional lunches, and laundry facilities.
We are particularly keen to hear from those who live in areas near to the club's Home Park base, including households in the Stoke and Devonport areas of Plymouth.
The club is committed to safeguarding and the welfare of young people and adults at risk, and expects all staff, volunteers, and visitors to share this commitment.
Applicants will be required to undergo a full assessment with our club staff, including a home inspection, and a satisfactory and enhanced Criminal Record Check before a decision can be made of suitability.
A fee is payable to the host family for the duration of the placement.
If you think that you can work with the club to provide the best environment for our young footballers to thrive both on and off the pitch, or you would just like to find out more, then we would love to hear from you.
If you would like further information about this opportunity, then please email Safeguarding on safeguarding@pafc.co.uk, giving brief details of your circumstances and the area in which you live.
