Home Park to become cashless in kiosks and hospitality
During the summer we reviewed areas of the business where we felt service or operations could be better, as we do on an ongoing basis.
One of the priority areas was kiosks around the stadium and importantly speed of service.
After taking on board comments from supporters and following our own internal review, we have decided to take a step towards becoming a cashless stadium.
Kiosks throughout the stadium and all hospitality areas will become fully cashless, with cash accepted in all other parts of Home Park Stadium.
This will commence from our opening home game of the 2023/24 season against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
This was trialled across several events at Home Park last season and was incredibly successful. Having looked at the results it has now been decided to implement a hybrid model across the stadium.
Cashless stadiums are becoming commonplace in stadiums around the country, with Argyle fans having experienced it first hand at Wembley in April.
Cashless kiosks and hospitality areas bring a number of benefits to the club, but also supporters. These include:
- Increased speed of service and shorter queuing times
- Improved hygiene with less cash handling taking place
- A cost and time saving impact for the club
We appreciate the majority of our fans are already using cards to make their purchases at Home Park, and this makes a genuine cost saving impact for the club, as well as saving your fellow supporters time as well.
We would encourage supporters to continue to use card, contactless card or mobile payments such as Apple Pay throughout the stadium where possible.
