Hatters off to Evergreen

Evergreen members will be providing fantastic extra support for the Argyle Academy in their Merit League trip to Luton Town this weekend.  

The young Pilgrims entered this phase of the Academy season after finishing a superb second place in their South-West Youth Alliance group, with the Merit League format including a number of long trips, such as Luton, Stevenage, Portsmouth, Sutton United and AFC Wimbledon. 

In order to give our Under-18s the best opportunity to perform at their highest level and to experience the full match-day experience when travelling away from home, Evergreen funding is being used to support an overnight stay ahead of the Luton game on Saturday. 

“It is fantastic that we are able to send the players overnight to the Luton game, which will be another challenging match in the Merit League programme,” said Academy manager Phil Stokes. 

“The aim of the Academy is to create experiences and environments that fully prepare our young players for the challenges of professional football, especially at Under-18 level, and we also want to give them the best platform to perform. 

“The emergence of Evergreen and the amazing support of the members has already opened new doors for the Argyle Academy, supporting our recent trips to play Arsenal and Chelsea for the younger age groups, and now this overnight stay at Luton. 

“Thanks to Evergreen, we are already planning for a significant increase in tours and tournaments for the Academy, which can only help with the development of our young players, so, on behalf of everyone in the Academy, thank-you to Evergreen members.” 

Evergreen members can choose how their money is invested: First-team, Academy or Sports Science, or a combination of the three.
