Georgia Wilson returns to Argyle
Argyle Women have re-signed Georgia Wilson.
The Plymouth-born midfielder joins from Reading, who last season played in the FA Women's Championship, where she played alongside two of the Greens’ other recent recruits, Ava Kuyken and Lulu Jarvis.
Georgia will be a familiar face to many, as the 22-year-old featured for Argyle in the 2022/23 campaign, playing 22 games and scoring six goals, before departing to join the Royals.
She began her footballing career with Bristol City, gaining valuable experience in the Women’s Super League, then switched to the Danish Women’s League, joining AaB Women for the 2021/22 season, before she joined her hometown club, Argyle.
“I'm really happy to be back,” Georgia told Argyle TV. “This club feels like home to me and has a really special place in my heart.
“I had a year away, and gained experience in a different league, but since then the club's really grown and it's something I really want to be involved in.
“It's been really easy to come back to Argyle. There's a lot of familiar faces, and new faces too, coming through the Academy.
“I'm looking forward to helping out the younger players. They're so talented, the girls that have come through and I hope I can guide them and help them out this season with my experience. Having Lulu and Ava come in adds that extra experience to help out too.
“I can't wait to play at Home Park again. Last time I was here, I did it and it was a dream come true for me really. To be able to play on the pitch is such a special feeling and it just shows the club's going in the right direction.”
“It is great have Georgia back in the fold,” said Head Coach Ryan Perks. “We know what she is capable of from her time with us previously, and now she comes back at a great time for us, as we look to push on under the main club umbrella.
“She gives us experience and quality in the middle of the field. I think it is a move that works perfectly for both parties.”
Season tickets for Argyle’s upcoming season, with the intention to play as many games at Home Park as possible, are now available, with the top price only £75. Click here for more information.
