Galloway's a Green
Argyle have completed the signing of former Everton and Luton Town defender Brendan Galloway on a short-term deal until January.
The ex-England youth international is the seventh player join the Greens this summer, following the arrivals of Callum Burton, James Bolton, Macaulay Gillesphey, James Wilson, Dan Scarr and Jordan Houghton.
He will be known to Argyle supporters, having featured in all four pre-season games on trial.
He has started three of those games; the opening two matches against Plymouth Parkway and Saltash United and then again in front of supporters at Home Park against Swansea City.
The left sided defender began his career at Milton Keynes Dons, becoming their youngest ever player when he appeared as a 79th minute substitute in an FA Cup tie against Nantwich Town in 2011, aged just 15.
He went on to join Everton in 2014 for an undisclosed fee, making his debut in a 2-1 win over West Ham United in May, then a week later he made is Goodson Park bow against Tottenham Hotspur.
Galloway went on to play 20 times for the Toffees, spending time on loan in the Premier League with West Bromwich Albion and in the Sky Bet Championship with Sunderland, during his five-year spell at Goodison Park.
It was during his time at Everton where he caught the eye of the national selectors, he has represented England at every age group from under-17s to under-21s.
In the summer of 2019, Galloway made the switch to Sky Bet Championship side Luton Town.
The 6 foot 1 inch defender found game time hard to come by at Kenilworth Road, and played just six times for the Hatters before leaving the club in the summer.
He joins the Pilgrims with a vast amount of experience, having played the majority of his career at Sky Bet Championship level and above.
He is a versatile player who is equally comfortable playing on the left-hand side of a back three and as a left wing back.
Brendan’s home and away shirts are available for sponsorship for the 21/22 Sky Bet League One campaign. For more information email commercial@pafc.co.uk , or call 01752302204.
