Foster and Whittaker Nominated For Monthly Sky Bet Awards
Ian Foster has been nominated for Sky Bet Manager of the Month for January, in his first month in charge of Argyle.
The Pilgrims also have a nomination for the Player of the Month award in Morgan Whittaker.
Foster became Argyle Head Coach on 5 January, the day before the Greens beat Sutton United in the Emirates FA Cup. In an unbeaten month, in which Argyle had already drawn 3-3 with Watford, the Pilgrims went on to draw 1-1 at Huddersfield Town, win 3-1 at home to Cardiff City and draw 1-1 at Leeds United in the following round of the cup.
Foster is nominated alongside Leeds manager Daniel Farke, Southampton's Russell Martin and Coventry City's Mark Robins.
Whittaker scored in all three of Argyle's league games in January, scoring the second in the game against Watford, the goal that put the Greens ahead at Huddersfield, and the clinching effort against Cardiff. He also got on the scoresheet against Sutton, and was given the captain's armband on several occasions, too.
Also nominated alongside Morgan are Stuart Armstrong of Southampton, Watford goalkeeper Ben Hamer and Leeds winger Dan James.
The judging panel for the Sky Bet Player of the Month comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Chief Executive Trevor Birch and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
The winners will be announced on Friday morning.
