Ennis departs for Blackburn

Argyle can confirm forward Niall Ennis will join Blackburn Rovers upon the expiration of his contract.

The 24-year-old played a key part in the club's Sky Bet League One title winning success and had been offered a new and improved contract.

Manager Steven Schumacher is disappointed to see Ennis depart but believes the squad will still be in a strong place for the start of the Championship campaign.

He commented: "It is always a shame to see talented players depart, and Niall played a big part in our success last season. 

"We offered him a contract which we felt was fair but understand that he wants to pursue a new opportunity with Blackburn. 

"Departures give opportunities for other players and we will continue working hard to strengthen our squad ahead of the upcoming season.”

Argyle would like to thank Niall for all his efforts during his time with the club and wish him well for the future.
