Director of Football Neil Dewsnip departs Argyle
Argyle can confirm Director of Football Neil Dewsnip has departed the club with immediate effect.
With the importance of securing our Sky Bet Championship status and the change in Head Coach, it has enabled us to relook at the football department and make sure it is appropriate for future challenges.
Neil has played a pivotal role in the club’s progression since he joined Argyle in 2019, overseeing two promotions from Sky Bet League Two and League One and aided the club’s survival in the Championship last season with two caretaker spells, including crucial wins against Leicester and Hull City.
He also implemented first-class structures throughout our Academy system that have seen the emergence of the likes of Tegan Finn, Caleb Roberts, Joe Hatch and Freddie Issaka, and oversaw the amalgamation of the women’s team into the football club.
Upon the announcement, Chairman Simon Hallett, commented: “Neil has been an integral figure in our progress ever since he joined the club in 2019.
“He has overseen a transformation on and off the pitch which cannot be underestimated. When he joined, we were in League Two and now we sit today in the Championship and a lot of that is down to the hard work and dedication of Neil.
“We feel it is now the right time to move in a different direction, but I want to personally thank Neil for everything he has done for Argyle. He will be welcome back at Home Park whenever he wishes.”
Everyone at Argyle would like to thank Neil for his contribution during his time with the club and wish him all the best for the future.
For now, we will be making no further comment.
