CPD Workshop with Devon FA

Argyle and the Devon FA are delighted to be teaming up to deliver a continuous professional development (CPD) workshop for grassroots coaches at Devon County FA HQ on Friday, 17 February.

The relationship between Argyle and Devon FA has grown extremely strong over recent years, with the collaboration providing coaches the opportunity to observe and learn from elite professional coaches at the Argyle Academy and first-team setup.

Hosted by Devon FA as part of their Devon FA Coaches Academy CPD programme, the workshop will see first team coach Kevin Nancekivell and Academy coach Darren Way take coaches through core skills sessions. The experienced Argyle duo will explain and demonstrate their core skill practices, offering coaches invaluable insight for their own coaching purposes.

As part of Argyle’s on-going commitment to grassroots football in the region, the club have donated 100 tickets to the Pilgrims’ Sky Bet League One fixture against Fleetwood Town the following day - offering coaches the opportunity to round off their CPD experience by taking in a first team match at Home Park.

The first 50 coaches to book and attend the workshop will be offered two free tickets to the attend the fixture. The workshop is free for coaches in Devon to attend and those in attendance will receive three FA accredited CPD hours. Tickets will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Devon FA Football Development Officer, Dan Dixon, said: ‘’We are always striving to broaden our coach development programme to offer unique insights and purposeful learning experiences for our coaches.

"The partnership with Argyle allows us to grant our coaches access to the knowledge of experienced professional coaches. Argyle have been very generous with giving coaches who attend the CPD workshop free tickets to the Fleetwood Town game which emphasises their tradition as a community club.’’

This workshop will provide a fantastic opportunity for grassroots coaches to observe our Academy staff delivering practices based on our core techniques."
