Cooper to miss remainder of season

Argyle goalkeeper Michael Cooper will miss the remainder of the season.

The Greens’ Player of the Season for 21/22 suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament injury during the Greens’ Sky Bet League One tie at Sheffield Wednesday.

The Pilgrims’ Academy graduate, 23, will go for further scans this week before visiting a specialist in London to set him on the path to recovery.

Cooper, who shared the Sky Bet League One Golden Glove last campaign, had been enjoying another stellar season between the sticks, and will be ably deputised by another highly-rated stopper, Callum Burton.

The club will pursue the best possible medical support and recovery assistance for Michael, and we are in no doubt that he will return stronger.

Rest up, Mike. We’re all behind you.
