Charlotte Whitmore Signs Argyle Contract
Charlotte Whitmore has become the latest member of the Argyle Women’s squad to sign an official contract with the club.
The 22-year-old joins the trio of Ellie Sara, Imy Crawford, and Giota Papaioannou in signing for the Greens ahead of the 2024/25 FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division campaign, during which Argyle will play home games at Home Park.
Scoring 22 goals in 62 games in green, Whitmore provides an attacking presence around the opponent's 18-yard box and is excited for the season ahead, as well as her contract signing.
“I'm buzzing,” Charlotte said. “It's a big step forward for the club and myself. I'm just excited to get the season going now.
“It's been good to see the growth here. This is my third season here now and it's good to see the club moving forward and taking big steps. There's a lot more support and growth within the women's side of things. It’s great to see.
“I'm buzzing to play at Home Park. It's a lovely pitch and ground. We all love playing here and every time you step out on that pitch, it's an unbelievable feeling.”
Argyle Women’s Head Coach Ryan Perks said: “It’s been a long process with Charlotte trying to get things over the line, but we're glad she's decided to stay at the football club.
“She offers a lot to the team and her work rate is second to none. She's quality on the ball, scores and sets up lots of goals, so, it’s great to get this deal over the line and keep her at the football club for another year, hopefully longer after.”
Argyle’s league campaign starts on Sunday, 18 August, when they travel to Gloucestershire to face Cheltenham Town. The following weekend, Home Park hosts the first home game of the season, when the Greens face Oxford United on Sunday, 25 August.
2024/25 Argyle Women Season Tickets are now available. Season tickets cost £75 for adults, £40 for over-65s and just £20 for under-18s. They can be purchased via ArgyleTickets.com.
Tickets for Argyle Women’s opening match of the season against Oxford United are now on sale. Single match tickets are available via ArgyleTickets.com and cost £10 for adults, £5 for over-65s and £3 for under-18s.
