Cardiff pre match show

Argyle will be hoping they can celebrate the festive season with a win as they take Cardiff City at the Cardiff City Stadium.

It will be exactly 14 years to the day, since Argyle last faced Cardiff City. Paul Mariner was at the helm and a late Gary Sawyer strike gave the Pilgrims all three points that took them off the foot of the Championship table. 

Cardiff have been inconsistent at times this season, after a slow start under new manager Erol Bulut, their derby victory over Swansea City kick started a good run of form where they went on to win six of their next nine matches. The Bluebirds have been struggling for form of late, having won on two occasions since the beginning of November. With Argyle’s good form of late, this good be a good chance to pick up a first away win of the season.
