The Game

Cardiff are 13th in the Championship, with 37 points from 27 games. They have won 11 games, drawn four and lost 12.
Since drawing with Argyle on Boxing Day, Cardiff have played four games, losing three. They lost 2-0 at league leaders Leicester City, before a 2-1 win at Queens Park Rangers on New Year's Day. They have subsequently lost 4-0 at Sheffield Wednesday, and 3-0 at home to Leeds United.
The Gaffer
Erol Bulut, 48, was appointed as Cardiff manager in the summer. German-born Bulut represented Turkey Under-21s during a playing career that took in stints at Eintracht Frankfurt, Fenerbahce, Olympiacos and more.
Having been an assistant at several clubs, he started his first managerial reign in 2017, with Yeni Malatyaspor in Turkey. He also managed Turkish sides Alanyaspor, Fenerbahce and Gaziantep, the last of whom he left in January 2023.
Earlier This Season
The two sides on Boxing Day, drawing 2-2 at the Cardiff City Stadium. Morgan Whittaker put Argyle in front after 17 minutes, but Cardiff equalised before half-time, a mix-up between Matt Butcher and Conor Hazard saw the former score an own-goal. Karlan Grant's excellent strike put City in front shortly after the interval, but Whittaker struck again to level the game up on 66 minutes.
