Callum Burton Signs New Deal
Callum Burton has signed a new contract with Argyle.
The 26-year-old goalkeeper has penned a deal which will keep him at Home Park until the summer of 2024.
Callum has played six times for Argyle. He made his debut in last season’s Carabao Cup tie against Swansea City, and has made five appearances in the Papa Johns Trophy, most recently playing as Argyle won 3-1 at Swindon Town on Tuesday night.
Burton arrived at Home Park in July 2021, having spent two seasons with Cambridge United, with whom he won promotion from Sky Bet League Two.
Callum came through the ranks at Shrewsbury Town, and later signed for Hull City. During his spells with The Shrews and The Tigers, he had loan spells at several clubs, including Salford City and Chesterfield.
"I am over the moon to have signed a new contract at Argyle," said Callum. "I've loved my time here so far, and my family and I love the club and the city, so i jumped at the chance to extend my time here. The vision the club has for the future is one I want to be a big part of and I want to help get this club back higher to where it should be. Hopefully we can push on and enjoy some really successful seasons."
