Call-ups for Joe and Freddie

Argyle Academy duo Joe Hatch and Freddie Issaka have been called up to a Wales Under-17 training camp this week.

Issaka, who last season became Argyle’s youngest-ever first-team player, and Hatch, who scored as Argyle’s Under-18 side got off to a winning start to their season at the weekend, will head to Hensol, just west of Cardiff, for a four-day preparatory training camp ahead of fixtures this autumn.

Both lads took part in all three games Wales Under-16s played in an April tournament, with both scoring in a 2-2 draw against Spain, and Hatch also netting in a 4-4 draw with Turkey.

Argyle Academy Manager Phil Stokes said: “It’s another fantastic experience for both players. Over the last 12 months, both Freddie and Joe have received international recognition and had some excellent performances in the Under-16s Victory Shield and UEFA Tournaments. I’m pleased for both Freddie and Joe and wish them the best of luck this week.”
