Argyle Women Welcome New Kit Sponsors
Argyle’s first-ever front-of-shirt sponsor Beacon Electrical will adorn the Argyle Women’s home shirts for the remainder 2024/25 season.
Our official travel partner, Tally Ho Coaches, will also feature on the backs of the players’ shorts, while confectionary giant Wrigley’s will be on the shirt sleeves.
Beacon Electrical is a Devon-based electrical brand that first sponsored the club in 1983, becoming the first-ever front-of-shirt sponsor. They hold a key position in Home Park’s history, now sponsoring the Mayflower Grandstand.
Tally Ho are one of the largest independent coach operators in the South West. They provide transport for players and staff for all long-distance trips away from home in the FA Women’s National League and cup competitions, and now feature on the backs of players’ shorts.
Wrigley’s will be seen on the sleeves of both the home and away kits. The well-known gum manufacturer are a key source of employment in Plymouth and the South West, and will see their Extra brand adorning the green, white and yellow this season.
Sam Greenfield, Head of Commercial at Argyle, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with such a recognised local brand, and long-time supporter of the club, in Beacon Electrical. Much like the men’s front-of-shirt sponsorship 41 years ago, Beacon Electrical have become the first-ever women’s team front-of-shirt sponsor. We’re all extremely proud to extend our existing partnership with them.
“It’s also great to introduce two additional kit sponsors, Tally Ho and Wrigley’s, on our shorts and sleeve.
“Based in Kingsbridge, and one of the largest independent coach operators in the South West, Tally Ho help to convey Argyle’s players, and the Green Army, all over the country. They have helped support and transport Argyle Women for several seasons, for which we thank them.
“Wrigley’s are a name known worldwide, and from their Plymouth factory, they produce more than three million pieces of gum daily. They are a major employer in the city and region, and we are delighted to have them on board with Argyle Women.”
Nick Higgins, Managing Director of Beacon Electrical, said: “We are incredibly honoured to become the first shirt sponsor of the Argyle Women’s football team. Our partnership with Argyle stretches back over 40 years to 1983 when we were the club’s first-ever front-of-shirt sponsor of the men’s team and has been rekindled over the past couple of years as we have found our organisations have shared values and goals. We are investing heavily in the business and particularly in our home city of Plymouth.
“The development and investment into the club’s future, in particular into the Women’s team, is incredibly positive and is a shining light in the South West business community. This is a really exciting next step in our relationship with the club; seeing our brand on the famous green shirts again after 40 years is something we cannot wait to see."
Don McIntosh from Tally Ho Coaches said: “Tally Ho Coaches are very proud to be involved with Argyle Women. We have been involved for some time as a player sponsor, and then as the team's travel partner. We are now delighted to have our name and brand displayed on the club’s kit.
“Seeing the women’s game develop in Plymouth has been exciting. The challenge at home to Exeter City will be a big one, and we will be shouting our support from the sidelines. The time and investment in the team from Argyle, and the opportunity to play home matches at Home Park, is evidence of how the women’s game is growing, and we are delighted to be along for the ride.”
A spokesperson from Wrigley’s said: “Wrigley's are delighted to be a part of the growth of Plymouth Argyle Women’s Football Club this season. In what has been a memorable season already, becoming a sponsor to help support this is something we’re extremely proud of. We wish everyone luck for the rest of the season going forward.”
