Argyle Under 10s Victorious in Oakham
Supporters attending our crucial Sky Bet League One match at Home Park on Saturday against Cambridge United will have the chance to give their appreciation to our tournament-winning Under-10s.
During the Easter Holidays our Under-9s, 10s and 11s took part in a three-day tournament held at Oakham School in the Midlands.
The Under-10s group included teams from Shrewsbury Town, AFC Wimbledon, Accrington Stanley, Colchester United as well as Nottingham Forest and Manchester United.
Group games were played over the first two days, and after 14 games our Under-10s finished in second place, qualifying for the semi-final.
After a thrilling match, going all the way to penalties, it was the young Greens who were victorious, defeating Manchester United to book a place in the final against Nottingham Forest.
However, they were not finished, going on to secure victory over Forest - giving them the prestigous Oakham Football Tournament Under-10s title.
The players and coaches will take a celebratory lap of the Home Park pitch with the trophy at half time tomorrow.
Be sure to look out for them, and give them a cheer!
