Not many players who have pulled on the green of Argyle have then gone onto win the Premier League and play in Europe.

Nicky Marker however, is able to make that claim. After swapping Exeter for Plymouth he excelled at Home Park and quickly became a fans' favourite. Playing either at the heart of defence or in midfield, his presence was crucial in Argyle's five-year stay in the second tier.

In 1992, just a few weeks after Blackburn Rovers clinched promotion to the Premier League at Home Park, Marker made the move to Lancashire to play for Rovers.

A Premier League-winning campaign and a Champions League appearance would follow before injuries began to take their toll. A fond member of the Argyle side in the 80s this is the career of Nicky Marker.
