Argyle players selected for September internationals
A number of Argyle players have been selected to represent their countries during the international break.
Goalkeeper Conor Hazard will be looking to add to his eight Northern Ireland caps, as they begin their latest UEFA Nations League campaign.
Northern Ireland compete in League C and begin against Luxembourg at Windsor Park on Thursday, 5 September, before a trip to Plovdiv to face Bulgaria three days later.
Victor Palsson is also in UEFA Nations League action, representing Iceland in League B.
They host Montenegro in Reykjavik on Friday, 6 September, and face Turkey away three days on.
Brendan Galloway’s Zimbabwe begin their qualifying campaign for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The Warriors are in Group J with Cameroon, Kenya and Namibia.
The task is simple: finish in the top two and qualify for the tournament in Morocco next winter.
Their opening match is on Friday, 6 September, against Kenya. They take on Cameroon four days later. Both games take place in Uganda.
Mustapha Bundu is also in AFCON qualifying action with Sierra Leone. The Leone Stars have been drawn into Group G, with Chad, Cote D'Ivoire and Zambia.
Chad are the first opponents for Bundu’s side, also on Friday, before they meet Zambia on Monday, 9 September.
There are also youth call-ups for two of our loanees and an Academy graduate.
Darko Gyabi will represent England’s Elite League Squad – formerly MU20s – in their first 2024/25 European Elite League matches.
Interim boss Paul Nevin leads the side for the first time, as they face Turkey in Istanbul on Friday, 6 September and Romania at Edgeley Park, Stockport, four days on.
Ibrahim Cissoko is in the Netherlands Under-21 squad for their U21 European Championship qualifiers against North Macedonia and Georgia.
The young Dutch side won all of their first seven games and can officially confirm their qualification for the 2025 tournament during this international window.
Cissoko could feature as they face North Macedonia on Thursday, 5 September and Georgia on Monday, 9 September.
Lastly, Freddie Issaka is in the Wales U19 squad for a camp in San Pedro del Pinatar, where they face Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan.
