Argyle drawn away to Brentford in Emirates FA Cup

Argyle have been drawn away to Brentford in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup.

Although Brentford and Argyle have not played each other since 2011, the two sides have met on 122 occasions. Only Bristol Rovers have been a more frequent opponent in the Pilgrims’ history.

In fact, in Argyle’s first ever season in 1903/04, Argyle and Brentford were drawn together in the FA Cup – Argyle won 4-1 after a replay. In fact, the teams have been drawn together six times in the history of the FA Cup, and Argyle have progressed every time.

Thomas Frank’s side are currently eighth in the Premier League table, but have only got beyond round four of the FA Cup once since 2006.
