Argyle draw Watford away in Carabao Cup
Argyle will meet Watford in the second round of the Carabao Cup.
The Greens ensured safe passage to round two with a 3-0 victory over Cheltenham Town on Wednesday night, with goals from Ben Waine, Ryan Hardie and Mustapha Bundu.
Shortly after full-time, Argyle learned that they will face fellow Sky Bet Championship side Watford in the next round, with the Hornets having won 5-0 against Milton Keynes Dons on Tuesday evening.
This season’s game will take place in the week commencing 26 August. We will share the date confirmation and ticket information as soon as we have it.
The sides have met only once in the EFL Cup; a game in 2001/02 which Argyle, then in the fourth tier, lost to a Watford team recently relegated from the Premier League, and managed by Gianluca Vialli. Marcus Gayle scored the only goal of the game.
