Argyle began their defence of their Merit League title with a goalless draw away from home against Stevenage.

This was only the fourth time in 27 league and cup games this season that the young Pilgrims had failed to find the back of the opposition net.

The Greens were the more dominant side throughout the game and it took two good saves by the home goalkeeper to prevent Kieran Edworthy and Freddie Issaka giving them a first half lead.

The second half carried on in the same vein but the closest Argyle could get to grabbing the winner was when Will Jenkins Davies’ goalbound effort was cleared off the home line.
