Argyle 2
Endacott 16, Hatch 59
Once again Argyle's youngsters found Oxford United, who are the only side to beat the Pilgrims in the Youth Alliance League this season, a tough nut to crack as it finished honours even at the Bangkok Glass Training Centre.
Argyle led via Jack Endacott, but the hosts scored twice early in the second period to turn the game around. It took a Joe Hatch equaliser just before the hour mark to grab a point for Argyle.
Argyle were the first to show with a Will Jenkins Davies free-kick kept out, at the second attempt, by the home goalkeeper.
The visitors had better luck on 16 minutes when Jack Endacott's superb left-foot shot flew past the helpless Oxford custodian to give Argyle the lead.
Neither side could find another way through in the first-half but disaster struck for the Greens as Oxford scored twice in the opening five minutes of the second period to take the lead.
The first came from Aidan Elliott-Wheeler, who broke down the left, cut inside and finished powerfully into the bottom corner.
Less than two minutes later, Tobias Brenan put the U’s in front, latching on to a ball over the top and knocking it in off the post.
This drew a swift response from Argyle who pushed their hosts back and were rewarded with an equaliser from substitute Joe Hatch only a few minutes after the Greens went behind.
Argyle were now in the ascendancy, with Kieran Edworthy's goalbound shot deflecting off a defender's boot before a brilliant save by the Oxford goalkeeper prevented Argyle restoring their lead.
A late free-kick gave Jenkins Davies the opportunity to gain victory but his effort just cleared the home crossbar and a point apiece was the outcome.
