Forest Green Rovers 0
Darren Way's Young Pilgrims kept alive their 100 per cent record in the EFL Youth Alliance Southern Section with a comfortable victory at Tavistock's Langsford Park.
A goal in each half, from Caleb Roberts and Kieran Edworthy, was enough to see off the challenge of Forest Green Rovers making it three consecutive victories for Darren Way's side.
Argyle took the lead after 28 minutes when Jeff Forkuo’s clever chip found Roberts, who beat the visiting goalkeeper to the ball and tapped into the unguarded net.
The Greens sought a second, and came close when Edworthy could not quite run on to a Joe Hatch pass, and then created a chance for Jack Endacott, which was cleared off the line.
Rovers went close twice in first-half stoppage time, before an Oscar Halls header across goal only just eluded Hatch.
Halls was involved again early in the second half, attempting to head home a pair of corners, before Argyle found that precious second goal.
Roberts this time played provider as his superb pass found Edworthy, who took the ball in and coolly slotted past the onrushing goalkeeper.
Roberts was denied another when a free-kick was well saved, and Halls hit the bar in the closing stages as Argyle finished strongly, and saw the game out comfortably.
