2024 Summer Stadium Work
The summer of 2024 was a hectic one for the Venue and Operations team here at Home Park Stadium - with concerts, Euro 2024 screenings and cinema screenings.
Following the culmination of the summer activity, work began on delivering a comprehensive update of Argyle’s playing field facilities.
These included the installation of a new hybrid playing surface costing close to £1million, as well as the construction of new training ground pitches.
The old Home Park stadium pitch was taken to Harpers Training Ground while the new hybrid surface, including artificial grass, was installed here at Home Park. The benefits of the new pitch will be a better recovery time, improved maintenance and a reduction in the summer renovation time.
Various other systems were also installed at Home Park Stadium including a 4G astro turf pitch surround, a new irrigation system with better coverage and permanent LED boards surrounding the pitch.
Amongst the stakeholders involved in the project from planning to execution were Christian Kent (lead) – Head of Venue, Chris Ralph – Head Groundsman, Sam Greenfield – Head of Commercial, Andrew Bradford – Facilities and Contracts Manager, David Gribble (Lionstead) – Project Manager, James Rees – Inscapes Manager, Danielle Hill (Collaton safety), Sport5 (LED boards), Oli (SIS), Peter Baker (NVB) Architect, Matthew Cridge (sands) Strcutural Engineer, James Welsh – Whitehorse Contractors and Chris Kingwell – Club Electrican.
We thank all those involved in the various project teams for their hard work over the summer - and a special thanks to Inscapes for their help with the transformation of our stadium during this period.
