Head of Academy Recruitment
ARGYLE’S forward-thinking and proactive Football Academy is looking for a full-time Head of Academy Recruitment to support the Academy Manager to recruit young players age 5 to 16 years old.
This is a key role in the development of the Home Park Academy and has evolved from work undertaken previously but now delivered into one role. It is critical that the successful applicant understands the FA / EFL and Premier League rules, as well as developing the Academy's recruitment plan in line with the club’s vision and values strategy over the next three to five years.
The successful applicant will live locally and already have strong networks with local youth leagues and schools in order to maintain relationships and improve the talent pipeline.
This exciting role in identifying our future footballing talent requires a high level of organisational skills, an eye for detail and a passion for identifying talent and managing a team of scouts. There are rigorous rules around talent management, and the successful individual will be aware of the limitations, and able to communicate effectively and empathetically with players and their families.
Argyle have strong values and any successful applicant will demonstrate those values through their behaviour and will ensure their team and the players also understand and adhere to those values. The role requires a DBS check and verification of qualifications and experience as well as successful references.
Applicants must have a strong work ethic, ability to work flexibly and independently, and have a knowledge of local youth leagues and schools within Devon and Cornwall. A high awareness of safeguarding and having attended the FA safeguarding workshop, and willing to work towards the Level 3 FA Talent Identification Qualification are essential.
We are also looking for experience within a professional football club and in a busy and fast-paced environment, together with experience of talent identification and an ability to lead a team.
