Premier League Cup Preview
KEVIN Nancekivell has highlighted a perfect opportunity for various Argyle players to catch the eye, as the Pilgrims entertain Portsmouth in the Premier League Cup on Tuesday.
The cup is predominantly an under-23 competition, but with allowance for some over-age players. The winners of our one-off game against Pompey will qualify for a 32-team Champions League-style format.
"It's a new challenge, and we're looking forward to it," said Kevin, Argyle's first-team coach."We hope to progress and test ourselves against some Premier League clubs.
"It is a chance for everyone to produce something. They will get to play on the Home Park pitch, to aid their development. It is also a chance, in front of the coaching staff, to show what they can do, and what they are capable of."
The game will be free to attend for Season-Ticket holders. General prices are: £5 for adults, £3 concessions, £1 for 1886 Members.
The Devonport end is closed to spectators that evening, with spectators limited to the central blocks of the Lyndhurst Road stand.
The match kicks off at 7pm.
