WWE visit to Home Park
WWE superstars Mark Andrews and Rhea Ripley visited us at Home Park this week ahead of their big NXT UK date at Plymouth Pavilions this weekend.
Mark and Rhea took part in a warm-up session with the Pilgrims first-team, led by sports scientist Ollie Osborne, before watching manager Derek Adams take training at Harper’s Park.
The World Wrestling Entertainment duo then spent the afternoon with the Argyle Community Trust, delivering an inspirational talk about goal-setting and overcoming setbacks, before taking part in a workshop on nutrition and well-being.
Mark 25, from Cardiff, and Australian Rhea, who celebrated her 22nd birthday on the day of her visit, are in Plymouth to take part in the WWE NXT shows at Plymouth Pavilions on Saturday-Sunday, October 13-14.
WWE NXT UK is the new UK brand launched by American superstar Triple H this summer during the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament at Royal Albert Hall.
The UK is the first territory where the global phenomenon of WWE, the world’s largest sports-entertainment company, has introduced a country-specific brand, and NXT features the best talent from around the world.
Mark featured in the first ever WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament, going all the way to the semi-finals before he was defeated.
UK National Women’s champion Rhea, from Tasmania, has been involved in both of WWE’s all-women tournaments that feature the 32 best women in the world.
Tickets for the shows are available from www.livenation.co.uk.
