Argyle Ladies 4 Bideford 1
THE Plymouth Argyle Ladies development squad grabbed the weekend headlines with an excellent 4-1 victory over Bideford in the FA Women’s South-West League Western Division.
There was a debut for Greece Under-20 international Panagiota Papaioannou, who impressed the management team on a recent trial, and played her part in an excellent victory, with the goals scored by Alex Hugh, Gabi Alphous and a Faye Ivall brace.
The first-team were given an unwanted day off following the late postponement of the National League Cup trip to Southampton. The game has now been rescheduled for Sunday, October 28, which means the league fixture with Cardiff City will need to be rearranged.
Argyle Ladies first-team begin their defence of the Devon Senior Cup with a trip to Bideford this weekend, while the development side welcome Bude Town in the league.
