Bristol City 0 Argyle 0
A VERY young Argyle side secured a second successive 0-0 draw in the Premier League Cup at Bristol City on Friday evening, following on from our stalemate with Derby County at Home Park last month.
Alex Fletcher had a great chance inside three minutes but denied by a fine block from Alhaji Sesay before Michael Cooper saved from Sam Pearson at the other end.
The game settled into a quiet period, with Cooper producing a couple of routine blocks after the half-hour. Argyle then threatened just before half-time, with Dan Rooney firing inches wide from a strong break.
It remained a tight affair through the second half, although a delicious free-kick from Alex Battle needed tipping over by Sesay.
Bleak weather hardly helped matters but still a good result for the Pilgrims and we move on to an away tie at Aston Villa on November 30 for our next game in the Premier League Cup.
