Reserve Report - Chard 0 Argyle 2
THE Pilgrims had the perfect start as they won 2-0 on the famous slope at Chard where they took a sixth minute lead when Luke Jephcott's cross was firmly headed home by Alex Fletcher.
Fletcher was on target again, 20 minutes later, as he combined well with Dan Rooney before getting on the end of the midfielder's cross to score.
Jude Boyd forced the home goalkeeper to make a fine save on 38 minutes before central defender Andy Burn was also denied.
The second half began with Fletcher inches away from securing his hat-trick as his shot hit the foot of the upright.
Striker Wilson then saw his 20 yard effort well saved by Fletcher had the ball in the net only to see his effort ruled out for offiside as Argyle finished the game well on top.
"Some of the boys had played the day before at Swansea so it wsa a very useful first pre-season reserve fixture," said Argyle Academy Director Kevin Hodges.
