Working Hard and Moving Forward
ARGYLE manager Derek Adams was encouraged by a competitive showing from his Argyle side against Burton Albion, drawing 1-1 at the Pirelli Stadium in Sky Bet League One.
The Pilgrims had work to do against the Brewers due to a shaky start – capitalised on by the home side, as Will Miller put Burton in front after four minutes.
The Greens grew into the game and were deservedly level seven minutes after the break, as Ruben Lameiras started and finished a fine Argyle move to make it 1-1. Both sides pushed hard for a winner in an open and fast-paced second half, but strong defensive work from the visitors ensured they took a point back from the Pirelli.
Adams kept his post-match comments short, sweet and to-the-point, as he and the squad head back to Home Park and prepare for a key New Year’s Day meeting with Oxford United.
“Obviously a very good performance from us today,” said Derek. “I thought we were the better side. We created a lot of good opportunities; a nice goal from Ruben Lameiras.
“A fantastic support from us today that we took here, and we look forward now to the next game.
“Everybody’s working hard, and we’re looking to keep on moving forward.”
